A Large Size, Exceptionally Percussion Flaked, Very Well Made Stanfield Blade That Exhibits Heavy Surface River Tannin Staining, Correct Early Style Blade Flaking, Correct Rounded Corners And Overall Shape For The Type, Aged High Flake Scar River Surface Polish, Correct Material And Manufacture For The Area Found. Ex-Charlie Shewey And Tom Davis Collections. The Northern Stanfield Blades Were Preform For The Archaic Type Points. Florida Stanfield Blades Are Rare And Possibly Associated With The Clovis Points As Preforms. The Stanfield Is Illustrated In Perino Vol. # I, On Page # 360.
